"All poker players in Vegas" is not a constant. This is a variable influenced by how many visitors Las Vegas receives. The number is influenced by the economy, conventions, tourism, etc. which is always changing. At the bottom line, the better the economy is doing, the more people have to spend on their vacations, and so the more people will come to Las Vegas.

At the moment, it seems to be one of the low points in Las Vegas. The mixture of the economy with the time of year (between Thanksgiving and Christmas), is making Las Vegas seem almost dead. Add a new and large poker room to the mix and the early success/population of the Aria poker room will come at the expense of surrounding poker rooms. I feel logically, ALL rooms will take a small hit but the rooms that are neighborhoring (Bellagio and Monte Carlo) will take the largest hits.

In the longer term, the success of the room (and other poker rooms in Vegas) will depend on the economy and the number of tourists visiting Las Vegas. NYE and the Super Bowl will definately offer a pick-up in business for all Vegas businesses but this happens every year. The real big help would be a better economy with more people working and taking Vegas vacations.

Best case senario, the economy will be on the way up at the end of 2010/beginning of 2011 and NYE and Super Bowl of next year will be a true sign of the future of Las Vegas poker.

Zippyboy -- that video was pretty cool thanks for sharing.

I can't wait till next month. Since it sounds like they'll be spreading a limit game of some sort (and I will screw around even at a $4-8 level), it looks like I'll be able to take a shot at the room fairly early on. The pictures look nice and I'm interested in seeing the brass cards live, since the artist rendering looked pretty cool.

I'll be at Aria on the 20th. Looking forward to the reviews here. Like to know if I am better off taking the tram from B to Aria or just walking. If walking which way??

I have information from a very reliable source that their main games will be as follows. 1-3nl, 2-5nl, 5-10nl, 10-20nl, 3-6, 9-18, 20-40, 60-120, and 4-8 o8. There is also a good chance of plo but could not confirm. Looks to be an amazing property, we will see how it affects the other big rooms.
