I played there quite a bit in early March. During the day it was not unusual to see one or two 1/2 NL games. The afternoon tourneys would draw 20-25 and the evening tourneys as many as 30. Weekend nights had a lot more action with a large variety of players. I sat at a 1/2 NL table where some girl had a "poker hands" card in front of her. It was quite funny to watch her look at her card, then raise, then watch everyone throw in their cards. It was even better when her Dad sat down at the table. Anyway, hope that helps.
Having my first live poker experience at the excalibur . Gonna be staying there june 10th through the 14th. Ive pretty much only played online, and a couple times a the local card room here in Daytona beach. I was thinking of starting at the excalibur to get my feet wet, and maybe moving across the street to the mgm. I think im gonna do 1/2 nl , or 2/4L. What do ya think? good place to start?
Can anyone comment on Excalibur's current poker room promotions? I'll be visiting late Jan/early Feb, staying on the south strip; wondering about things like hourly high hands, aces cracked, $/hr and/or food comps, etc.
I'm trying to get a handle on what MB, Luxor and Excal offer for the casual visitor.
so im gonna be staying at Excalibur during may 27-29 and i was wondering how the poker room is there. i know that they do high hands and have a pay out wheel. i just want to know if its worth playing. how many tables are usually playing and how long do they usually last for.. thanks for any info

I have a soft spot for the Excalibur. The room is noisy and uncomfortable, but the bonuses are great and the games are usually very beatable.
There's usually between 1and 3 tables going. It's never packed, but it's rarely empty either.
I think it's worth playing. Think of it like fast food: it's not healthy or highbrow, but it's tasty and cheap. There's something to be said for those qualities.

If you get your aces cracked, you get to spin a payout wheel. It's alot of fun and the payouts aren't chump change either. It's definitely worth being agressive with aces.
