VD78, we are sorry we missed you the other night!
A few friends of mine and I wanted to play a mixed game and due to a casino rule that employees are not allowed to drink while playing cards (whether on or off the clock), we opted to audition the Monte as a backup room for our mixed game since we had some casino employees in our group.
TV, the Shift Manager on duty (who I remember from Venetian back in 2006) was running the show and was very open to giving us a dealer and a free table in the back of the room.
There were only 4 of us to start the game, and the Monte was happy to accomodate us fully. In a matter less then an hour, we even had a full table with a list. A few Monte dealers got off shift and played as well as some Mirage guys who happened to stop by.
Special thanks to the graveyard crew of the Monte Carlo that was there that night and put up with our shinanegans.
Though, of course, our mixed game has a home at a different casino and will stay there, but the Monte passed the audtion and will serve as our backup room when necessary. Job well done!

I know I rarely post here, just a lurker like most, but I made my second trip to Vegas and attempted the poker room rate at the Monte Carlo.
Anywho, I was playing 2/4 from about 7pm - 12:30am on Sunday, and I saw the mixed game going, considered joining but I only know the games in H.O.R.S.E....Michael, were you wearing the red sweater? It's the only person I could see from my seat.
On a side note, I really enjoy the Monte Carlo. I have been there for both of my Vegas trips and the management, especially Jim, and the dealers are all great people.

Glad you guys had a good time, late nite at the Monte is always fun, and our dealers are game for a good mixed game. Hope to see you guys next time you are in my neck of the woods.....
I agree. I have always had a very enjoyable time playing at Monte Carlo. Very well run. It is always on my list when I plan my trips. Would hate to see it close, as mentioned as a possibility in other posts, as I feel it sets the standard for most of the poker rooms out there..

Yes, I was in the red sweater in the 2 seat. Sabrinia was in the 3 seat, mophobes in the 4 seat, and Yappy was in the 6 seat (8 handed game). The others were dealers and employees from Monte and other casinos.
Our rotation was Razz, Stud 8, Badugi, Baduci, 3-2-1 Omaha, Double Flop Crazy Pineapple, 2-7 Triple Draw, and Omaha 8.
Don't worry about the lineup of our game, as the fun games like 2-7 anjd Badugi (that most people don't know) are very easy to learn and what better way to learn then at the 3-6 or 2/4 limit level!

Yeah, as a frequent player in this room, I have to say that TV is about as good, fair, honest and accomodating as you can get! He's usually on shift in the later evenings it seems.
Just wondering if VegasDealer or anyone else has any info on the reopening of the Monte Carlo other than what is on the MC website?
I know there are a ton of higher priorities right now for the poker room staff, but I'd like to know if they plan on honoring the freeroll for players who put in 33 hours in January.

Thanks in advance.
I'll answer my own question here in case anyone else is curious. I just got a call from the Monte Carlo. I was told that they would be open in about a week. The "January" freeroll will be held at the beginning of March, and players have all February to qualify for it.
I greatly appreciated receiving the call from the Monte Carlo, and commend their customer service.
Appears MC will re-open on February 15th. Reports are 1200 rooms initially, 1300 rooms a week or so later. Looks like casino and poker room will open on the 15th.
