I love the room, the place is always jumping and the whole atmosphere is very classy. The only gripe is the room is so crowded that I find the lower limit areas to be very cramped. It also would have been great if they'd have restrooms right next to the room. But other than that it's a greeat place to play. I found the play at 4/8 to be easily profitable, but the players overall seem to be tough at the higher levels.

I also consider this to be a very tough room (in many ways, tougher then the comp at Bellagio). Also, I am in complete agreement over how cramped the room is (though not as cramped as Bellagio).
Some of the regulars (especially from the 40/80) have drifted over to Venetian (like Ray Cooke among others), but the Wynn room is still very busy most of the time, and personally, I like it much more then Bellagio, but not nearly as much as I like the V. Then again, I am a low limit and 1/2NL player, which is probably why.

Wynn ran a 2for1 promotion for their La Reve show, so my wie and her visiting brother went to see it, and I checked out their poker room again.
The good: The competition. Played 1/3NL and doubled my buy in in less thne 2 hours, without anyone calling any all ins or anything. Just lots of chasers and calling stations. 9 handed tables made for a quicker game.
The bad: I guess I am just spoiled by the number of tables at the V and their ability to open a new table as soon as there are 10 on the list. The list was 12-15 people deep on many games. This never happens at the V.
But, the comp was great, and on that alone, I would return.

This is suprising to hear. Everyone has their own preferences, though 95% of people I've talked to prefer the 9-handed tables. The no limit games are stilll mostly 9 handed, but the limit games are generally 10. I believe the main reason for making the tables 9-handed originally was the width of the ultra-comfortable chairs, could be wrong.

Last year, thats what I heard too. Those huge wide comfy chairs were too wide for 10 players at the table size they bought. So ---- they bought several of the next larger size tables.

My 1-3NL table was indeed 9 handed, which I didn't mind so much, as I had the entire side of the table between the 1 and 3 seats to myself.
On Saturday, I played at Venetian, and they had over 20 tables going, and as soon as the list got 10 names, they opened a new table (advantage of having 39 ten handed tables). When I referred to this never happening at the V (with regard to long lists), I was referring to the wait, not the action. Unlike Wynn, as soon as the V gets the names, it opens a new table. Wynn allows the lists to grow to 20 long. V does not, as they have the real estate to prevent it. Wynn does not, which is why I waited over a half hour for a seat.
Having played NL at both, still gotta go with what I believe to be the BEST, Venetian over Wynn, hands down.

Question for anyone who plays at Wynn semi-regularly:
How do the comps work? I know they'e $1 an hr, etc, but I remember reading on someones trip report that Wynn has an odd way of redeeming them. Something like $15 at a time only, and you have to cover your whole bill with it? Anyone remember this or have any more info?
I've played there and used comps a few times. I just tell them how much I want for a specific restaraunt and show up, give my name and players card/id and all done. Not sure about a minimum but a simple call to the room will get this taken care of for you.
