So, I'm fortunate enough to get to extend a business trip (Surfaces convention late Jan) and staying at Flamingo Jan 30-Feb 2. Does the $20 trick work at this hotel? How is the poker room? I suspect I'll be spending some time at Planet Hollywood, Venetian and Aria as well. Hows the action late Jan? And the weather?

Thanks!

Can't speak to the $20 trick other than to say I'm not sure if it's really worth it for a solo trip -- I stayed in one of the updated Fad Deluxe rooms and it was fine but nothing special. Not sure what more the $20 trick would get you. I actually liked the habitat view in the tower by the hotel lobby, but I think the front side is strip view which would be good too.

The poker room is ok, not great. It does have the same high rake ($5+1) as other CET properties, but the games are normally ok.

Weather will probably be mid-50s in the day, mid-30s at night. Wind can be a bit cold and does "go through you" as my grandmother would say, but not terrible if you are used to colder weather.

You may see locals wearing parkas and mittens. Feel free to laugh.
