I have played here a few times. Although I liked the enclosed room atmosphere, it really is just like any other middle market room (reminds me of Rio, Aladdin, Tropicana, etc).

However, the advantage seems to be with the heavy tourist base that they have. With the exception of the tournaments, the tourist base makes strong hands even more profitable then normal.

I've played the 3/6 game here a few times in the last few months and have never failied to have a profitable session. I'm a tourist, but a frequent player, and I had to stop a few times and re-examine the board to make sure I wasn't really missing something; I had QQ, flopped the set, and kept getting re-raised by one player who turned out to have AK for just a pair of kings...but I was sure I was missing a straight or flush due to his persistence. He got very mad that I not only kept re-raising but won the pot.

The dealers are very good, the managment is good at enforcing the rules fairly (a local got irritated that no exception was made for him talking on two cell phones during a hand, and one conversation was in Spanish, great multitasking). They do have high hand jackpots for quads or better.

A few problems with the room, though. The HVAC is unrlieable at times, the temperature varied from upper 80's to stone cold a lot. The noise from the Carnaval Court outside is bad at times, and the room booms with the low frequencies. Finally, don't order off the poker room menu. It's overpiiced to start with ($9 for a cheeseburger with fries), and they add room service fees for a total cost of about $15 fo4r a pretty mediocre burger. Pick up and go eat if you play long hours (I usually play for five hours or more at a time, so I tend to get at least one meal during my sessions).

My brother and I were on our way to play and watch the Superbowl at Caesar's, and decided to have lunch at Toby Keith's. As we wound up running late, we decided to park in Harrah's room for the game. I liked the room, the dealers were competent, and the game was soft enough, but at least at that time, a little tougher than what you'd normally find in a 1/2nl game on the Strip.

In terms of the food service mentioned above, they may have fixed that, a guy at our table ordered food and It seemed to be reasonably priced.

Don't know if this is the norm or not, but played there today on a new table being opened up.

I chose the 4 seat.
At one point, Seat 1, 2, 3, and 5 were all locals/regulars.

Seat 2 busted and was replaced with another regular.

Also, before I forget:

While playing today and talking to some of the dealers, they have been tryign to get a 1/2 PLO game going and run it as often as possible.

The one dealer said that thus far when it starts up, it usually only lasts for about half an hour before breaking.

Unfortunately it never got running while I was there.

My plane was late and was going to play a different tourny but went to Harrahs and won it. Found out that if i won another one, id be in a WSOP freeroll for a seat to the big one. Well I won that one and am headed back in April for the big one into WSOP. Nice room. I agree with the other posts about size and noise. GOOD action with big bets from poor players. Be patient and you'll do just fine. Wish me luck in april.

The fields ranged from 3-5 tables. Nothing too tazing and nice payouts of over 900 for each of my wins. I was very lucky to stumble across all vegas nad the tourny list. Had it printed out and really made choosing nice.
