Was toying with the idea of playing the 2pm $125 tourney on the Wednesday or Thursday when I'm out there next month. Does anybody know what they've gotten for # of runners lately? It's a great structure (slightly better than Aria's overall), so that alone has me interested.

I was in Bellagio on Sunday playing 20-40 Limit so I was fairly close to the tournament tables and they had 2 or 3 tables. It didn't appear that it was a good turnout for the tournament.
The Bellagio has added yet another layer of depth to their "unique" brand of customer service. When games get shorthanded, the rake increases. No, that's not a typo.
My game last night was playing 5 handed with a $3 drop. We ask for a rake reduction when we got to 4 handed, the floor increases the rake to $4. They do this because if there are open seats they'd rather have two games dropping $8 max. than 3 games dropping $8 max.. What they apparently don't realize is that A) antagonizing their patrons is not a good long-term business model B) customers often rack up and leave when games break, and C) players usually break games themselves when the table gets short. But whatever, they get out of paying a dealer minimum wage for 45 minutes doing it the Bellagio way.

Ian, I'm not really understanding what you are saying, and I guess my first question, is that what they told you or are you just guessing? Did you ask if you could go to a full table or are you saying they were encouraging you to do that by raising the rake instead of dropping it? Do you prefer playing short-handed?
Seems weird. If there were seats available at other tables, why not break the game?
